The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) has placed a Phase 1 Water Shortage Order for areas within The Villages. This shortage order began on December 1, 2025, and is scheduled to run through July 1, 2026, and applies to counties and cities in our vicinity as well. While this order does not make changes to existing two day per week irrigation, it does prohibit “wasteful and unnecessary” use, such as allowing water to flow from an unattended hose.
