Residents may have noticed a change in how household waste is being collected throughout the community. Jacobs, the solid waste provider for much of The Villages, will now collect waste from the right side of the road only as routes move through neighborhoods.
This updated collection process is designed to improve safety for both residents and collection crews by reducing the need for frequent lane changes and limiting time spent near oncoming traffic.
Residents can continue placing household waste out for collection as usual, with the understanding that trucks will service the full route as they exit the neighborhood. This adjustment helps support safer streets while maintaining reliable service throughout the community.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience as this updated process continues to roll out. Working together helps keep our neighborhoods safe, clean, and beautiful.
