Special Election 2026: Recreation Center Updates

The Sumter County Supervisor of Elections has announced that only one candidate has qualified for the Office of State Representative for District 52. As a result, the special election originally scheduled for January and March 2026 has been canceled.

What this means for residents:

• All prior Recreation Center room holds or closures related to this special election can be disregarded. Rooms are now available for regular activities.
• This cancellation does not affect the regular Special Election voting taking place in late November and early December 2025.
