- Do not provide personal, financial, or account information
- Delete the message immediately
- Report the incident to local law enforcement and, if applicable, your email provider

Fraud attempts continue to target individuals in many forms, including email, text messages, and phone calls. Residents are often targeted with urgent or official-looking messages designed to create pressure or confusion.
Common warning signs include:
- Requests for immediate payment or fees
- Messages claiming “urgent action required”
- Unfamiliar email addresses or slightly altered sender names
- Links directing you to unfamiliar websites
- Requests for sensitive personal information
Remember:
Legitimate organizations will never ask for payment via unsolicited email or pressure you to act immediately without verification.
When in doubt:
Pause, verify the source independently, and consult a trusted family member, neighbor, or local authority before taking action.
