District 11: How to Report a Streetlight Outage

Properly reporting streetlight outages helps ensure issues are addressed quickly and efficiently. Recently, we identified that some outages were not being reported through the City of Leesburg’s official channels, which delayed repairs. To prevent this moving forward, residents are encouraged to use one of the reporting methods outlined below.

Please note: Marking streetlights with tape or other indicators does not notify the City. Streetlight outages must be formally reported for repairs to be scheduled.

Reporting Multiple Streetlight Outages (Best for Neighborhood Issues)

If you are reporting multiple streetlights in one area, the most efficient method is by email.

When submitting your request, please include:

  • The pole number for each streetlight

  • The nature of the problem (light is out, flickering/on and off, dim, etc.)

  • Contact information for the person reporting the outage(s)

Once collected, email the information to:
systemoperators@leesburgflorida.gov

The City of Leesburg Operations Center will use this information to create work orders for service technicians.

  2. Provide the phone number of the person reporting the issue
