In our continued commitment to improving the quality of life and maintaining the utility infrastructure within The Villages, the Village Center Community Development District has initiated a Water Service Line Replacement Program in the Villages Center Service Area (VCSA).
The potable water system in the VCSA is aging, and the purpose of this project is to replace service lines, significantly reducing the potential for future leaks. Water service lines that carry water from the water main to household water meters will be replaced as part of this project. During construction, water outages may occur at different times, depending on the areas where crews are working. No resident will be without water service during overnight hours. This upgrade to the water system will enhance reliability and overall service.
Beginning March 2, 2026, the District’s contractor, RCM Utilities, LLC, will begin replacing the water service connections in Villa San Antonio. The service line replacements are expected to take approximately 12 weeks, followed by landscape restoration.
During construction, homeowners’ water service will be turned off for no more than eight hours. Homeowners will receive 24-hour notice before their service is interrupted by way of a door hanger placed on their door. If required, boil-water notices will be issued to residents and will remain in effect for a two-day testing period.
The safety of our residents and construction personnel is of the utmost importance. We ask that everyone comply with all barricades and warning signs and avoid active construction areas except when accessing your property.
