Overnight lane closures are planned on U.S. 301 at Florida’s Turnpike as part of ongoing construction efforts. Updates will be provided weekly with the following week’s schedule.
Nightly from Sunday, Oct. 19, through Saturday, Oct. 25
8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Northbound and southbound inside lane closures may occur along U.S. 301 under the Turnpike overpass.
Work will involve barrier wall removal as needed.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is launching the first of three projects to widen U.S. 301 (S.R. 35) from two to four lanes between C.R. 470 and Florida’s Turnpike as part of the Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative.
Project 430132-4 includes:
A new two-mile section of U.S. 301 from C.R. 525E (Industrial Park Drive) to C.R. 468 (Warm Springs Ave.)
Interim improvements at the Turnpike interchange to ease congestion
Setup of maintenance of traffic (MOT) and erosion control devices
Overnight lane closures within about a week of setup
Adds one through lane in each direction under the Turnpike bridge and increases southbound turn lane capacity
Expected completion: Spring 2026
New four-lane segment east of Coleman
Realignment of U.S. 301 from C.R. 525E to C.R. 468
Expected completion: Late 2027

Areas of uneven pavement as asphalt is applied in phases
Varying noise levels and activity by construction phase
Drivers are urged to use caution, follow posted detours, and stay alert in active work zones.
