We want to make residents aware of a current email scam affecting communities nationwide. Fraudulent messages are circulating that appear to be from Seacoast Bank, asking recipients to provide personal banking information for “enhanced security.”
These emails are not legitimate.
Verify the sender – Be cautious, even if an email looks official.
Don’t click suspicious links – Hover over links to check the true destination.
Never share sensitive information – Banks and companies will not request passwords, account numbers, or personal details by email.
Contact directly – Use official phone numbers or websites if you’re unsure about a message.
Urgent threats or warnings about account closure
Requests for immediate action
Poor grammar or generic greetings (“Dear Customer”)
Unusual or mismatched email addresses
Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and delete the message.
