Join us for the 19th Annual VCDD Hurricane Expo

The Villages Public Safety Department invites residents to attend the 19th Annual Hurricane Expo to learn how to prepare for storm season and understand what to do if a hurricane impacts our area.

Join government agencies and local businesses for valuable information on storm preparedness, disaster recovery resources, and how to protect your home and family before hurricane season begins on June 1.

A sign language interpreter will be available.

What You’ll Learn

Disaster Supply Kit Information
How and what to pack for you and your pets.

Special Needs Registration
Where and how to apply. Representatives from your local Emergency Management Division will be available to assist.

Managing Health Issues
Important information on preparing for medical needs if disaster threatens.

Insurance Preparedness
Are you covered? Learn what you need to review before hurricane season.

  • Bring your Weather Radio for programming at The Villages Public Safety Department and Sumter County Emergency Management tables.

  • Blood Drive provided by OneBlood.

  • WVLG AM Radio broadcasting live.

  • Enter to win one of ten Midland Weather Radios or a gift basket at The Villages Public Safety Department table.

Admission

In lieu of an admission fee, attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to benefit local food banks:

  • Wildwood Soup Kitchen

  • Christian Food Pantry

  • Salvation Army / Lake County

A food truck will be on-site with food available for purchase.
