Automated Meter Reading

Starting in November 2024, we will replace nearly 140,000 residential and commercial meters as part of our new Automated Meter Reading (AMR) program. This project will be completed in phases over four years. The timing for your meter replacement will depend on its age, brand, and utility.

AMR is a technology being implemented as the standard for utilities across the country, and now in The Villages®. Using advanced communications, AMR reads meters remotely, which eliminates the need for a meter reader to visit your property each month. This change offers several benefits:
