The Purchasing Department provides fair and equitable treatment of all persons involved in public purchasing by the Districts and to provide like commodity and contractual services and procurement policies, rules, procedures and forms for all District Departments.
Therefore, the Purchasing Department shall provide procurement services to the Districts and Departments at the appropriate quality and quantity in a timely manner and at the least cost to the residents while maintaining a procurement system of quality and integrity.
The Districts welcome the opportunity to do business with interested vendors in the community and would like to foster participation by all qualified vendors who offer quality goods and services.
Although competitive sealed bidding is the universally preferred procurement method in governmental purchasing, the District’s Purchasing Policies and Procedures allow for a less formal process to be used on purchases which are less than $50,000. These procurements often utilize competitive written or oral requests for quotes.
The Village Community Development Districts have contracted with Onvia, Inc. to assist vendors in receiving automatic notifications of current solicitations. Vendors may register to receive notification of solicitations for bids, proposals, and quotes from the Village Community Development Districts.
The DemandStar system provides current information to potential customers, consultants, and other types of vendors, as well as the general public. This system will allow you to receive the information quickly, at your convenience, whenever and wherever you choose, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. DemandStar is an automated vendor list categorized by specific commodity or service offered. Businesses who have subscribed to the vendor list are notified by fax or e-mail whenever a formal sealed bid has been issued for the commodity or service offered by the vendor.
*The Villages Community Development Districts’ website and DemandStar’s website are the only authorized outlets for downloading District solicitations. We cannot verify the correctness of documents received from any other 3rd party distributor.
