Thank you for visiting the Village Community Development Districts (VCDD) Recreation Softball website. The Villages Softball Program is the premiere senior softball league in the United States! The goals of The Villages Softball Program are exercise, fellowship, and friendly competition.
The Villages Recreation Softball Program is a program offered to residents of The Villages and is organized by VCDD Recreation Department. The age requirements to participate in senior softball are; a male player must become at least 50 and a female player at least 40 years of age during the calendar year to be eligible to play in Senior Divisions that calendar year. Under the direction of the District Manager and the Director of Recreation the softball program is staffed by a full time Sports Coordinator located at Saddlebrook Recreation Center. The Villages Recreation Department manages eleven softball fields at four separate locations. Two locations, Saddlebrook and Buffalo Glen, have fully stocked concession stands that are open during league play. The fields are available for practice during non-league times and can be rented for special occasions. For information on renting the softball fields for a special occasion please contact Saddlebrook Recreation Center at 259-5377.
Players are strongly encouraged to consult a physician before participating in rigorous activities such as softball.
