Guidelines For Use of Satellite Dishes

The Community Standards Department is committed to upholding the high standards of our community’s design, construction and aesthetic.  The department has two functions: architectural review and deed compliance.  The Architectural Review Committee, a resident body serving on behalf of the Developer, the District and all the residents, ensures preeminent designers and builders working at the top of their craft will perpetuate the vision of The Villages.  Design standards ensure every home and modification to the home is constructed of appropriate materials and built to complement the natural and manmade surroundings.  Some of the standards include making sure that the new or “added on” portion of the residence fits and looks as if it is original to the home.  This usually means, for example, that the roof and its pitch not only match but ties in cohesively with the existing, that the shingles or roofing material match identically to the existing home, that you are not constructing too close to your neighbor and that your addition fits into the overall aesthetic design of the community.  We are evolving a community that blends with nature, is within the parameters of the declaration of restrictions and will become more beautiful and distinguished over time.  The resultant higher property value will be a legacy left by each generation in The Villages for future generations to enjoy.  

A Modification/Alteration Application Form is required for all exterior modifications except skylights and solar tubes, downspouts, gutters, and curbing as a border for foliage beds.

If you have already used the Modification/Alteration Application Form that appears on page 5 of The Villages Directory, you may obtain another from The District Office at 1894 Laurel Manor Drive (751-6719), from our website: www.districtgov.org or from the Customer Service Center on Wedgewood Lane. Applications that are submitted before 1:00 PM on Monday will be reviewed by Wednesday. You may pick them up or they can be mailed directly to your home.
