Sumter County Transit Villages Route Schedules and MapsThe Sumter County Board of County Commissioners Community Services Department is responsible for the administration of the Sumter County Transit Program. Whether for you, a neighbor or a friend, Sumter County Transit can provide safe transportation to the doctor’s office, shopping or to just visit a friend. CERT Special Needs RegistrationAs Villages residents, it is imperative that each and every one of us is prepared for 2008 storm season. A vital part of the preparation process is ensuring that all special needs residents are registered with the Villages Public Safety Department so that in the event of evacuation to a shelter, local emergency management personnel are aware of those needs. Please take a moment to read this informative brochure and, if necessary, complete the special needs form provided. New Utility RatesBeginning with the July 2008 billing cycle, the Little Sumter Service Area and Village Center Service Area utilities will adopt water conservation rates as recommended by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). These rates were approved by the Board of Supervisors and adopted at the May 16, 2008 board meeting. The rates are effective for all water services rendered subsequent to June 1, 2008.
